Use Shun Knives And Feel The Samurai

Use Shun Knives And Feel The Samurai

Shun Knives are known for their sharp edges resembling Samurai sword’s edges. These knives are available in such a vast range that you can even think of any type and you will get the same with the Shun knife.

Even if you are dealing in the hotels industry, you will find that the chefs prefer the use of the shun knife in cutting as it makes their working very smooth. It I interesting to note that the shun knife has become synonymous with the sharp edges.

The shun cutleries and knives have become a rage among the users in US. The product carries the fineness of the dexterity of Bob Kramer a remarkable name in the knives making field.

In a short span the Shun Knives have made their mark in the segment. The sharp edged products are synonymous with the quality and décor and of course most dreaded samurai swords.

The quality of the shun knife lies in its clad construction. Its wavy Damascus pattern carrying blades are 16 layers of SUS410 High Carbon Stainless Steel compressed to 3/1000th of an inch and then clad on each side of the VG10 stainless steel core. Its blade get the strength, stain resistance, and incredible cutting performance from this unique combination.

Apart from its quality of remaining straight, the VG10 stainless steel has a higher density which helps the steel to get the 61 level of hardness on Rockwell. Despite its hardness, the Shun Knives still hold the flexibility and strength to maintain a perfect shape.

Shuns knife’s cutting edge is ground to an angle of 16 degrees making them extremely sharp. The shun knife also boast of the using of the Honyaki and Kasumi methods.  While in Honyaki only one piece of steel is being used to make blade, the Kasumi uses extremely hard carbon steel for the edges. With all this inputs the shun knife have become a must for the every household in the US.

The Shun Knives range includes knives being used for all different purposes. Right from the vegetable to the big meat cutter, every thing you will get. You can choose from Shun Classic 6 Pc Set, Shun Classic 7pc Santoku Set, Shun Classic 7 Pc Set, Shun Classic 8 Pc Set, Shun Classic 9 Pc Set with Free Cutting Board, Shun Classic 6 Pc Set, Shun Classic 2 Pc Starter Set, Shun Classic 3 Pc Set, Shun Classic 2 pc Asian Set and others.

3 knife demo – Cutco 9″ chef’s knife vs Shun 8″ chef’s knife vs 5-1/2″ Kyocera Santoku

Just a demonstration using chives of how the following knives cut: My mom’s 9″ Cutco chef knife (which I sharpened before this video as it was pretty dull to begin with as it sees frequent heavy use by my mom) My 8″ Shun chef knife (which has never been sharpened yet and sees frequent use) My 5-1/2″ Kyocera Kyotop Ceramic Santoku (which has never been sharpened yet and sees infrequent use)

I Love Shun Knives

“float: left; margin: 5px;”> default I Love Shun Knives

This is not my video. it is owned by William Sonoma. I found this site and I checked it that YouTube does not have it. So I thought I’d put up there. If Sonoma William has a problem with this post, I will remove it. name = “movie”> Video Rating: 4 / 5 div style = “float: left; margin: 5px;”> default I Love Shun Knives -Knife . com Hey everybody, Steve Shue here for another addition of the Shun Knife Review. Well, today we’ll talk about the best quality of Shun knives, which is the elite Shun knife. Yeah, I know … the name he gives a bit far, but these knives are the elite of the elite. In the last episode, we talked about the Classic Shun Knife which is the most popular, but elite Shun is the second most popular. They are very similar in most respects, but there are some distinctions I wish to point out. First, steel. If you remember in the last episode, we mentioned that the Classic Shun is made of a VG-10 steel. However, the elite is made of a higher grade premium steel called SG-2. This is probably the most important and distinct difference between the two. SG-2 is a premium “powdered” alloy. As you know, the steel powder are created through a unique process that allows a uniform distribution of elements in the material. This creates a steel that can be made EXETREMELY hard and, consequently, Sharp wicked. Frankly, they are stronger all knives … my opinion … period. Nothing compares. The SG-2 powdered steel is hardened to 64-66 Rockwell while most kitchen knives use steel that has a Rockwell hardness of 56-58. The steel is evenly distributed, eliminating weak spots or soft spots or other imperfections to this question. The knife is then covered with stainless steel to provide strength, flexibility and corrosion name = “movie”>
